It was my last semester of High school, just a few months shy of my graduation. As the future graduating class of 2022, my classmates and I were assigned to write our senior captions for the yearbook. The question we all had to ask ourselves was," What are your goals for the future?". For me that question was easy. I wanted to be a boss; work my own hours, make my own money, and make my own decisions. But, what I found more difficult for me to answer was "How am I going to get there?"

I took the traditional route and went to community college, hoping that at least if I pursued a degree in business, it would inspire my future career. College felt like the step in the right direction, however, I quickly realized, "This isn't where I need to be." I didn't feel like I was moving forward (or even backwards). I was sedentary, still completely unclear of what the future held for me. I knew I needed to make a change, but again I had to ask myself, "How?"

I'll be honest, web designing was definitely nowhere near my radar of possible careers; in fact, I had never heard of the concept until one night I was in bed, scrolling through TikTok (as most Gen Z-ers do when they don't want to do their school work) when I came across something called "Freelance web designing". What started as a casual curiosity soon became a full-fledged passion. I discovered not only the creativity behind designing websites, but also the satisfaction of building something from scratch. The more I learned, the more I realized this was the path I had been searching for all along. Web design wasn't just a career; it was a way for me to carve out my independence and creativity while helping others build their digital presence. While I can't pinpoint the day, I do remember the feeling. The feeling of inspiration and excitement overcoming my body as my future finally became clearer. Simply by chance, my calling found me.

Now here I am, taking my plan into action, ready to see where this journey takes me, while helping entrepreneurs build their dream businesses along the way!
